Jackson Police Department welcomes Tennessee’s first Police Officer Apprentice
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department is spotlighting a first-of-its-kind occasion in Tennessee.

Tuesday, JPD says they welcomed Apprentice Chandler McCrury as the first Police Officer Apprentice in the state.
According to the department, their Apprenticeship Program is registered with the state, and is designed for applicants ages 18-21 who have a desire to become a Police Officer for the City of Jackson.
JPD shared that the program, which involves “on the job” learning, is a 24-month/4,000 hour program for applicants who are working to meet the state qualifications to become an officer in the city.
