Lunch and learn event to be held amid Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Kirkland Cancer Center is having a “Taste The Colors” lunch and learn.

Attendees will enjoy good food and hear from colorectal cancer nurse navigator, Rene Hampton and registered dietitian, Abby Mays.

The lunch will take place Tuesday, March 5, from noon to 1 p.m. at The Lift Wellness Center, and it costs $10.

“March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, so we really just want to provide awareness about prevention, screening and early detection, so all of that will be shared that day as well as healthy eating and how that ties to colorectal cancer, and how it’s a vital part of prevention,” said Elizabeth Newman, Kirkland Cancer Center’s Marketing and Community Outreach Manager.
