‘Holy Graffiti’ event planned for Gibson County’s Isaiah 117 House

TRENTON, Tenn. — Sometimes words can be the encouragement we need.

The Isaiah 117 House in Trenton plans to host a “Holy Graffiti” event.

Participants will have an opportunity to cover the wall studs of the home with scriptures, quotes or prayers.

We spoke to Jennifer Milam, the location leader for Gibson County, who stated that it’s a blessing to be able to do this.

“We want to pray over this house and every door and every window,” Milam said. “This is just an important step to us in building this home.”

Milam says that this home is for their kids in the community, as well as the foster children.

“We want to cover them in prayer. When they enter our doors, we want them to feel God’s love just wrapping them and helping them on their removal day and one of the hardest days of their time,” said Milam.

This event will take place on Sunday, February 25 at 2 in the afternoon.

“This is actually just a blessing and prayers over the construction phase, and yes just a lead up to it, it won’t be long and we’ll be serving children in our home,” Milam said.

She says that when the time comes to open, they will always have a spot for kids in need.

“There’s children in need every day, and we’ll accept children from all around West Tennessee that are in need whenever we have availability,” Milam said.

They are looking for assistance from members of the community.

“We are having volunteer training twice a month if you’re interested in being a caregiver,” she said. “We are also taking up hygiene items and new clothing items where we can serve our children. And there’s lots of ways to help at our event or host an event for us if that’s something you’re interested in.”

There is not an estimated open date at this time.
