Vehicle accident causes road closure in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—Accident causes road closure in Jackson.

According to a social media post from the Jackson Police Department, the area of North Parkway to Skyline Drive’s southbound lanes are closed following a traffic accident. JPD say the closure could possibly last for around six hours. Residents are asked to find an alternate route at this time.

A WBBJ-7 Eyewitness News tipster said, the accident occurred around 3:30 this afternoon when a vehicle left the roadway striking a utility pole. Two police cars, an ambulance and the fire department were also witnessed at the scene by the tipster.

When our crews arrived on the scene, we discovered the southbound lane of North Highland from North Parkway to Skyline Drive was closed. Also Jackson Energy Authority was working to repair the downed utility pole.
