Whiteville Elementary School celebrates Black History Month

WHITEVILLE, Tenn. — Whiteville Elementary School celebrates Black History Month through a living museum.

The first session of their event was earlier today.

The second session started at 5:30 this evening and is set to finish by 7.

The Living Black History Museum is a student centered event involving reenactments and walk through displays that honor black history.

Principal for Whiteville Elementary Casshawndra Sain stated: “We all know that uh black history is a part of American history and so we try to incorporate that especially this month across all curriculum, and across all grades to honor and to learn about the legacy, the accomplishments and advancements of black leaders.”

Principal Sain also spoke on the importance of teaching younger generations about the sacrifice of the past to appreciate the freedoms of today.
