JCT celebrates Black History through an artistic showcase

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school celebrates the black experience through the fine arts.

Jackson Career and Technology School honored Black History Month by showcasing the arts.

Students from each grade participated by either dancing, singing, acting, or reciting literatures.

Teachers have called this celebration a cultural explosion of fine arts.

Each grade was responsible for a decade of African American history.

“They actually came up with their own routine so it was interesting to see their talent and the talent that the students have,” said the Instructional Coach at JCT, Debbie Taylor.

The eighth graders were able to showcase their own dance presentations.

School officials say the students worked hard on their performances.
