Teams from across the U.S. attend local baseball tournament

JACKSON, Tenn.—Batter up! Teams from across the U.S. battle it out for a win at a local baseball tournament.

The SpringHill Suites & Fairfield Inn & Suites Baseball Blast tournament took place this weekend at the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex.

The USSSA Baseball AA/Open tournament featured matchups between teams of players ranging in ages of 7-years-old up to 14-years-old.

The tournament began on Saturday at 9 in the morning and will continue until 7 this evening.

Teams from all across the U.S. traveled to Jackson to play in the tournament. Teams from not only Tennessee but Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, and Illinois made the trip.

“In order to make it into the championship, we’re in the silver bracket. There’s a gold bracket and evidently, we yesterday lost to both of them. So today, we gotta play to win. So every game we win, we keep playing. If we don’t win, we don’t keep playing,” said Chad Adams, coach of Bartlett Diamondbacks.

There was no entry fee for teams to participate in the tournament.
