Mf ParrishLinda “Gail” Parrish passed away on March 1, 2024, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Florence, Alabama.

Gail was born on November 26, 1948, in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late Bennie Lakin Gautney and Lucy Catherine Simpson Gautney. She spent her childhood growing up in the hills of Northwest Alabama alongside the Tennessee River. She married the love of her life, Roger Dale Parrish, on November 21, 1964. Together they moved frequently for Roger’s career, but settled in Memphis, Tennessee. Together they had 43 years of marriage, and two children that were the light of their lives, Tina and Tony. Gail worked as a waitress and had owned a residential Cleaning Service. She loved to read, go thrifting, sew, and spend quality time with her family. She also enjoyed lunch trips with her sister, Patricia.

Gail is survived by her only son, Tony Dale Parrish (Angela) of Oakland, Tennessee and five grandchildren, Anthony Parrish (Stephanie), Kayla Parrish Rutledge (Andrew), Katie Parrish Bailey (Matt), Hunter Parrish and Dustin Parrish, all of Oakland, Tennessee. She leaves behind her heart with her four great-grandchildren, Caden Rutledge, Easton Rutledge, Hudson Rutledge and Amelia Bailey, all of Oakland, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her best friend and sister, Patricia Gautney Woods of Waterloo, Alabama along with her son-in-law, Rusty Conti of Savannah, Tennessee and many other beloved family and friends.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Parrish and her daughter, Tina Marie Parrish Conti.

A visitation for Mrs. Parrish will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Chuck Barritt, pastor of Arlington Assembly of God, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Anthony Parrish, Hunter Parrish, Dustin Parrish, Andrew Rutledge, Matt Bailey and Tim Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Duke and Rusty Conti.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society in honor of Gail and her daughter Tina.
