Union womens basketball team defeats Delta State in GSC quarterfinals
Lets move to the hardwood as the lady bulldogs of Union went head to head with Delta state
earlier tonight. Shanique Lucas who was just named to first team all GSC led the charge with 17 points.Union hopped out early and didn’t
look back scoring 19 points in the second quarter which gave them a major lead going into the half to be up 51 to 29.The lady bulldogs shot 40.5 Percent from the field
and went 11 of 13 from the free throw line landing at 84.6 Percent. Which was plenty enough to give union the win with a final of 90 to 71.Next time out they hit the road to Birmingham,Alabama
to face off with number 3 seed lee university in the gsc semifinals. That game is slated for March 9th at 2:00 pm in the Pete Hanna center.
