Drug task force arrests suspect wanted in Michigan

DYERSBURG, Tenn. —The West Tennessee Drug Task Force made an arrest leading to the seizure of several different drugs as well two weapons.

Agents for the 29th district out of Dyersburg received an anonymous tip around 10 p.m. last Thursday, February 29th, leading to a traffic stop on an abandoned R.V. with a Michigan license plate. The stop led to agents finding 1/2 ounce of cocaine, 1/8 ounce of meth, 5 ounces of marijuana and 2 weapons. 

After the initial traffic stop, agents continued working throughout the night and next day, eventually finding a lead on a suspect hiding in a mobile home on Shelby Armstrong Lane in Ridgely. 

According to the West Tennessee Drug Task Force, an additional felony amount of crack cocaine along with 4-1/2 pounds of marijuana were seized.

After arresting the man, whose name has not been released, The West Tennessee Drug Task Force later found out the suspect was wanted for violation of the sex offender registry out of Michigan and on a felony warrant out of Smyrna, Tn.

This case is being prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney General, 29th Judicial District, Danny Goodman, Jr.
