Wrestling championship raises money for local children and families
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Wrestling fans and competitors filled Chester county high school Friday night.
For the 19th year, Neo Products and Hare Financial presented a Tennessee championship wrestling fundraiser.
Organizers say 100-percent of the money raised will go towards the Chester County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Friday night’s event saw the biggest card yet, with around 8 big matches and around 40 wrestlers.
“I’m hoping tonight is going to be the biggest and best show we ever had in this high school, high school gym. It’s got the potential to be the biggest show we ever had and some of the best talent we’ve ever had,” said Terry Hearn, the production manager for Neo Products corporation.
“It’s just an incredible blessing for us, the money raised tonight stays right here in Chester county. And it allows us to continue to be able to provide services for the children and families here in Chester county,” explained Kirbi Fahs, director of the Chester County Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center.
Hearn says the goal was to raise more than $10 thousand dollars.
