Local sorority presents 2024 Youth Symposium

JACKSON, Tenn.—A local sorority chapter spends the day inspiring area youth.

The Nu Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated hosted its Youth Symposium today.

The event was held at JCM Middle School from 10 this morning until 1 this afternoon and featured a day filled with learning opportunities and fun.

Among the activities offered were interactive workshops, speakers, and the opportunity for networking and connecting with other local youth.

The Youth Symposium tackles tough topics and challenges that face teens such as drugs, teen pregnancy, human trafficking, self-confidence issues, suicide, and more.

“So for the last couple of years, everything that we’ve done with the youth has been productive. We see a large turnout of children that are really engaged in the programs that we provide for them,” said Clara Johnson, Vice President, Sigma Alumni Chapter.

This is an annual event for the sorority.
