One person injured following a shooting in east Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—The Jackson Police Department needs your help in regards to a shooting that occurred this afternoon.

We were informed by a WBBJ-7 Eyewitness News tipster around 5 this afternoon of a shooting on Hale Street.

Upon arrival, the Jackson Police Department were heavily enforced on the scene.

JPD stated that around 4 in the afternoon, they were alerted of shots fired on shot spotter at the intersection of Hale and North Cumberland Street.

Upon arrival, JPD discovered one victim had suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

His injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
