Humboldt Police confirm fatality in Wednesday evening crash

Correction Deceased is Arthur Tate not Pirtle. Also a second victim has died Nellie Tate 85-year-old Female from Humboldt.

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE HUMBOLDT POLICE DEPARTMENT:

On March 13, 2024 at 5:23 p.m. officers of the Humboldt Police Department were dispatched to U.S. 45 & Esquire Peek Road in reference to an automobile crash with multiple injuries.

Upon arrival officers found two vehicles were involved. One vehicle was traveling north on U.S. 45 and another vehicle was entering the highway from Esquire Peek Road.

The vehicle traveling north on U.S. 45 did strike the vehicle entering the highway from Esquire Peek Road. As a result of the crash Arthur L. Tate an 86-year-old W/M from Humboldt was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Other victims were life flighted to Trauma Hospitals due to their injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the accident take place is asked to call the Humboldt Police Department at 731-784-1322.

The Humboldt Police Department would like to thank all First Responders who responded to this scene and assisted with the extraction of the victims and help with controlling the scene.
