One local organization is helping to save lives

JACKSON, Tenn.—A local group partners with LIFELINE to save lives and raise awareness of a life-threatening illness.

The Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. alongside LIFELINE Blood Services hosted a special blood drive today.

The event took place from 10 this morning until 2 this afternoon at Unity Temple Church of God in Christ located at 369 Lexington Avenue in Jackson.

The event was held to offer support to those with Sickle Cell and raise local awareness of the disease.

Blood donors of all types were welcomed to support this event.

“This is our first blood drive, and we are happy to be doing this, and we are making sure we are just putting out and letting people know about, especially in the African American community,” said Bridgett Parham, Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.

Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. is a nonprofit service organization founded in 1967 that focuses on bettering the local community.
