St. Patrick’s pub crawl makes its way through downtown Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — St. Patrick’s Day put many residents in the mood to raise up a glass, put on their green and celebrate.

Downtown Jackson was filled with residents who were ready to let the good times roll.

Several local bars and restaurants opened their doors to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The Blacksmith had community members at the bar, as well as outside.

Some were even spotted dressed from head to toe in their green.

Participants were seen in their green attire, laughing and having a good time with their family and friends.

The owner of Spring Street Cigars, Derrick Stingley, says that as a new business, he’s happy to open his doors for the pub crawl.

“I participated in the pub crawl a few years ago, had a lot of fun,” Stingley said. “And now our business is here and we are able to participate and let people see what we have here in Jackson.”

The business opened last year in October, but he says the growth has been amazing.

“We opened in October and the memberships were sold out by December,” Stingley added.

Not only could the people have beer to celebrate the day, but Stingley had more to offer.

“Letting them see what we have for our premium cigars as well but just having fun with the event,” said Stingley.

Hunter Cross performed outside of Franklin’s Little Bar. This bar has not opened yet, but still managed to have something exciting going on.

There was a pop-up art fair outside.

We talked with Katie Garcia, the co-owner, who stated that the opening is coming soon.

“We start serious construction in April, and so we are shooting for late summer early fall,” Garcia said.

She wants you to remember their bar, because she says that it will be one of a kind.

“It’s tiny. It is the tiniest bar in Jackson,” Garcia said. “As far as we know, the tiniest bar in the state of Tennessee and probably the Southeast.”

But you don’t want to miss out on when this building actually opens.

“We want you to feel at home when you come in and it’s a place that you can always feel welcome and included and everyone is excited to see you,” added Garcia.

Garcia was happy to celebrate this day with family, friends and the community as a whole.

“I can’t believe that I’m a part of this. That my husband and I have started this little thing and it’s turned into such a fun event, and it’s just really heart warming and makes me so happy to be a part of this community,” she said.

The event concluded at the Downtown Tavern.
