Showers Back on Friday, Mild & Dry Weekend Expected
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
The first full day of Spring has been very nice across West Tennessee. More clouds will move in on Thursday and some scattered rain showers will return on Friday. We are expecting a mild weekend but there could be some storms coming in early next week. Catch the full forecast details coming up right here.

TONIGHT:
The warm up continued on Wednesday as the area of high pressure to our south continued to control our weather. Highs reached the upper 60s to near 70° by Wednesday afternoon. The sun was also hanging around for the most part on Wednesday. The winds came out of the west most of the day and will transition back to the north overnight as another front will stall out across the area. Wednesday night lows will fall down to the mid 40s. Chances for rain is 0% on Wednesday but will increase some late Thursday into the day on Friday.

THURSDAY:
Thursday is going to be a little cooler than Wednesday behind the front. Highs will reach the low 60s on Thursday. Clouds will move back in and a few showers or very weak storms may try to pop up overnight but we are not expecting much until Friday. Chances for rain are currently at 20% for Thursday night. Thursday night lows will be mild and fall to the upper 40s due to the clouds sticking around Thursday night. Some showers will return on Friday as an area of low pressure will pass to our south. In general the winds on Thursday will come out of the east or northeast.

FRIDAY:
Depending on how far north the low pressure system gets, and how far south the front stalls out with determine who in West Tennessee sees the showers on Friday. The further to the south you are, the more likely you are to encounter some rain. Those encountering the showers early Friday will not see anything heavy, maybe up to 0.25″ at most.

Chances for rain Friday currently sit at 70%. Highs on Friday will be mild reaching the mid 60s again, due to the northeast winds that will be sticking around during the day. Friday night lows are forecast to fall down to the low 40s. It will be a little cool Friday night but another warm up will look to start for the following weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
The weekend is looking pretty nice across West Tennessee. Highs will reach the low to mid 60s on Saturday and mid to upper 60s on Sunday. We should see plenty of sunshine although there will be some clouds both days. Saturday night lows will fall down to around 40° and Sunday night lows will only dip to the low 50s. The winds will come out of the north on Saturday but slowly transition to the east on Sunday and to the southeast by Sunday night. We are not expecting any rain in the forecast but early next week, a round of heavy rain and thunderstorms will look to move through the Mid South.

FINAL THOUGHT:
We saw a very cold end to winter before temperatures try to recover in the middle of the week to kick off the first full day of Spring. Some isolated showers will look to return late Thursday into Friday but they will not mount up too much. We probably have not seen our last frost year of the Spring so please do not plant yet. There could be some more stronger storms on the way early next week, so we will need to be keeping a close eye on that situation as the first week or Spring marches on.
