Experts urge early planning and research when buying life insurance

JACKSON, Tenn. — No matter how old you are, experts says it is never too late or too early to start thinking about life insurance.

They recommend you to do your research and ask the right questions when looking for life insurance.

Determine whether term, universal or whole life insurance is what you are signing up for.

If a company tells you they cannot ask any health questions, you will not be fully covered for the first two years.

Another thing to be made aware of is finding out how long your policy will take to pay out after you pass.

Some common misconceptions and reasons people aren’t covered include age and health issues, also a lack of knowledge on the topic and trust for companies.

“It is so important to get some coverage if you do not have it. We don’t want to leave our families embarrassed. We don’t want to leave our families to beg. That does not have to be your story. All you have to do is get some coverage. It’s really simple and easy,” said Vonda Peet, Whole Life Insurance Representative.

According to the life insurance marketing and research association, about 100-million Americans are either without life insurance or inadequately insured.
