Madison County’s Firefighters Freedom Festival cancelled

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Residents in the Jackson/Madison County area will be missing an annual event this Fourth of July.

According to a social media post by Madison County Fire Rescue, the Firefighters Freedom Festival has been cancelled.

The post states the difficult decision was made due to funding, as the cost to host the event has raised drastically over the past two years.

Madison County Fire Rescue says 10 years ago, the budget to raise for the event was $20,000, but that has now increased to $45,000.

The post states they appreciate everyone who has supported the event over the last decade, and the decision was not an easy one to make.
