UPDATE: Henderson shooting believed to be self-inflicted

UPDATE (3/26/24): Assistant Chief Tim Crowe shared the following information:

Morningview Cove Incident 

This press release is a summary of the facts known at this time, as this incident is actively being investigated. The information contained in the press release is subject to change. Additional details will be released as they become available

In the early hours of Sunday March 24th 2024, Officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to an address on Morningview Cove for a report of a gunshot victim. Once Officers arrived, they found a female inside a vehicle in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began assisting with life saving measures and securing the scene. The female was transported to a local hospital where she later passed away from the injury

According to Chief of Police Gary A. Davidson, our preliminary investigation leads us to believe the gunshot was selfinflicted, this is still and active and ongoing investigation.” 

We are not releasing the name of the deceased female at this time to allow the family the time they need to grieve in privacy and make any necessary arrangements they need to make, added Chief Davidson

Unless there is any changes in the investigation, this will be the final media release.

HENDERSON, Tenn.—A shooting incident took place early Sunday morning in Henderson.

According to Tim Crowe, Assistant Chief of Police in Henderson, the shooting took place in the area of Morning View Cove and included one subject in a vehicle. 

Crowe says it was an isolated incident and there was no immediate threat to the public. He also stated that the shooting remains under investigation.

The status of the victim is unknown at this time.
