West Tennessee Legal Services offers fresh start

JACKSON, Tenn. — West Tennessee Legal Services is hosting a free expungement clinic for those with a criminal record.

Hosted at Lane College, the clinic will be April 19th in Jackson.

The clinic celebrates Second Chance Month and Help-4-Tennessee-Month.

It will allow qualifying individuals who have charges in Madison County General Sessions or Circuit Courts to have their criminal record erased.

“Just because you’ve been told in the past that you don’t qualify for an expungement, that does not mean that you might not this year. Tennessee frequently updates their expungement laws and some people who might not have been eligible in the past, might now be eligible,” said Andy Cole, Pro Bono Coordinator at West Tennessee Legal Services.

Pre-registration is required for the clinic, and will end April 5th.

Anyone interested in registering can call West Tennessee Legal services at 731-423-0616, or visit their website by clicking here.
