Alzheimer’s Association hosts meeting on volunteer opportunities

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Alzheimer’s Association met this evening, on March 26th, at Rock’n Dough Pizza to discuss volunteer opportunities for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The meeting served as a way to recruit volunteers for their community engagement committee.

This is one of three committees that play a part in making sure the Walk to End Alzheimer’s goes according to plan.

Some of the potential volunteers at the meeting included representatives from the Jackson Rockabillys, Edward Jones, and members of the community.

For this year’s walk, organizers say they are increasing their goal from 56-thousand dollars to 72 thousand, while also anticipating a larger turnout.

“We definitely want as many people as we can to come out and help us raise awareness about this terrible disease,” said Don Schwartz, Manager for Walk To End Alzheimer’s.
