Brownsville residents gather for Mayor Rawl’s community dinner

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Mayor Bill Rawls and the city of Brownsville hosted a community dinner this evening, March 26th.

The event was held at the Brownsville Family Restaurant on East Main Street.

The community was invited in to share a meal and a conversation.

Mayor Rawls said he came up with the idea of having this dinner because many people don’t often get involved in city government.

“This is the first time here. This is the brainstorming idea I came up with recognizing people don’t always come to a city council meeting. I hope to do this quarterly. We’ll see how successful this is and the word is spread. There’s nothing like face-to-face conversation with people in the community. So this is the first, but it won’t be the last,” said Rawls.

Organizers say the dinner is a great opportunity for residents of Brownsville to connect with their neighbors and to encourage them to be a part of a thriving community.
