WOW Wagon brings reading joy to kids across Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — A sponsored initiative is bringing the joy of reading to kids where they live.

The Words On Wheels, or WOW Wagon, paid a visit to the Leaders Credit Union branch on North Highland near the Old Hickory Mall this afternoon.

All month long the WOW Wagon is visiting different Leaders branches across Jackson where the community is encouraged to stop by during their book drive and donate a used book.

Kids can come by and pick out a new-to-you book to read.

Organizers say the response to the WOW Wagon book drive has been phenomenal.

“Right now we’re completing this book drive with Leaders Credit Union and the Education Foundation and the read team still will continue to operate throughout the end of the year to make sure that students are reading at grade level and that they are equipped for success and perform in the classroom as they should,” Mark Cancia, Director of Community Engagement, United Way of West TN.

The WOW Wagon is co-sponsored by the United Way of West Tennessee and Leaders Education Foundation.
