UPDATE: Courtesy: WOPC – Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems provides an update after the bodies of a child and man were found along the Tennessee River.

Sheriff Weems says a vehicle and later the body of a child was discovered just after daybreak this morning, near a work area along the Tennessee River on the Perry County side. After further investigation, authorities believe they have located the body of an adult. No identifies have been released. The TBI is on scene to assist the PCSO. We are expecting more information to be released by the Sheriff later this afternoon.

PERRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A child’s body has been pulled from the Tennessee River, according to WOPC.

WOPC reports that Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems says authorities are attempting to recover a second body as well, with additional resources being brought in to assist.

Sheriff Weems stated this is not related to any “ongoing missing persons case.”
