Jackson Arts Council unveils exciting event lineup

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Arts Council is set to host some exciting events for the local community soon.

The Jackson Arts Council seeks to be an umbrella organization of support and advocacy for art groups, artists, and cultural institutions.

Through their services, they envision every individual in our community having impactful cultural experiences through engagement with the arts.

There are many events taking place this weekend and throughout the month of April.

Such as spoken word and open mic night, which is happening downtown at the Ned on April 4th.

You can also learn to crochet single and half-double stitches and how to apply them to simple crochet patterns.

This event is hosted by Grinning Soul Crochet, and takes place March 28th, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the local.

And the best part?

All materials will be included, all you have to bring is yourself.

“So, we have all of this listed, on our calendar of events on our website that’s 731arts.com, and we update that regularly,” said Morgan White, Executive Director of Jackson Arts Council.

The Jackson Arts Council has raised millions of dollars for the arts, brought hundreds of thousands of dollars of grant funding to this region for the arts, built a cultural arts center in Jackson, hosted hundreds of arts and culture events, and provided arts advocacy locally, state-wide, and nationally for our region.
