Last chance to join the March Matchness madness at Lane College

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College is starting their fourth March Matchness,  this is an opportunity for supporters to donate with a fun twist.

One donor has given the Lane College family a challenge to match one hundred thousand dollars.

Lisa Peoples, Director of Development for Lane College gives more details on this challenge.

“A donor has agreed to give us 100,000 dollar challenge gift. We’re able to get at least 500 supporters to give us 142 dollars one year for each year lane college has been in existing,” said Peoples.

This challenge has been going on all month, and is now coming to an end but there is still enough time to give, here’s how.

“And we’re at of course the last week of the campaign and so we are reaching out in every aspect of our supporters to make sure they send in their 142 dollars. They can do it online at ‘lanecollege.edu‘, go to ‘give to lane’ or they can mail their checks to 545 Lane Ave,” said Peoples.

These funds are helping students achieve their academic goals.

“We don’t want finances to be the reason they can not continue their education. So scholarships are very important to us here at lane college. All of these funds, all of the 60,000 plus the 100,000 dollars we receive will go for students scholarships for the students here at lane,” said Peoples.

Peoples also says she has faith in her fellow dragons.

“Alum and our supporters always come through for us when we have a match or a challenge campaign. We know they will come through this time as well,” said Peoples.
