William Andrew “Andy” Parks
William Andrew “Andy” Parks, age 43, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson Parks, departed this life Sunday afternoon, March 24, 2024 at his home.
Andy was born December 26, 1980 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Judy Stephenson Parks and the late Ricky Elliot Parks. He graduated from Fayette-Ware High School in Somerville and was married May 21, 2011 to Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson Parks. Andy was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Fayette County Public Works and was a genius mathematician. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed farming and cutting the grass. He loved his family and had a passion for children, mentoring many children over the years. Andy loved the Lord with all of his heart and had the God-given ability to quote scripture from the Bible.
Andy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson Parks; his daughter, Makayla Thompson of Somerville, TN; two sons, Kaleb Parks and Gage Parks; his mother, Judy Stephenson Parks of Whiteville, TN; his sister, Jessica Parks of Whiteville, TN; his brother, Steve Parks of Oakland, TN; his granddaughter, Jocelynn Walls of Somerville, TN; four nephews, Colton Parks, Elliot Parks, Walter Parks and J.R. Hogan, all of Whiteville, TN; and his beloved boxer-pit bull mix dog, “Bird”.
Visitations for Andy will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday, March 28, 2024 and from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel with Bro. Leon Watkins of Mercy’s Bridge Church near Somerville, officiating. A prayer will be given by Pastor Adrian Knipper and personal remarks will be given by Jessica Parks and Makayla Thompson. Interment will follow in Parks Chapel Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Johnny Harris, Jason Watkins, Christian Allen, Demont “E Man” Turner, Jerry Walker and Jonathan Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie German, Brandon Boggs, Colton Parks, Jeremy Bishop, Braxton Gooden, John Thompson and Jamie “Elmo” Cleaves.
