Champions for Change leads ceiling tile project at Northside High
JACKSON, Tenn. — A junior at Northside High School started a project that gives other students something to look up to.
Krisshaun Murphy is president of Champions for Change at Northside High School, a student-led volunteer club.
“I want to help somebody else in their life. That’s what I want to accomplish,” said Murphy.
Murphy organized a project asking the entire student body to decorate ceiling tiles for students in the medically fragile classrooms.
Students from various organizations and classrooms, along with individual volunteers, decorated over 20 different ceiling tiles.
The artwork is vibrant and bright, with inspiring messages and fun characters.
Murphy says he’s been praying about this idea for awhile.
“This experience, this event, this activity has really made me feel blessed,” said Murphy.
Not only does he want to inspire other students, but anyone else who has ever doubted themselves.
“Not just that they are a student but they are them. They carry a title within our school system. They carry a title within our state. They carry a title within our world. They are somebody,” said Murphy.
Murphy is proud of the project and says this is not the last time you’ll see a Champion for Change or a student in the Jackson-Madison county School System making an impact in their school and in their community.
Murphy is advocating to implement this program in other schools.
