Warm & Humid Easter Weekend in West Tennessee
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We started our Thursday at the freezing mark of 32° and we might have seen our last freeze of the Spring as warmer weather is coming back through the weekend. Highs will approach the 80° mark this weekend but it is also going to be quite humid for your Easter Sunday. There is a front coming early next week that will cool things down a bit and bring a round of showers and potential storms our way. We will have all the latest forecast details coming up.

TONIGHT:
After a chilly start to the day, we warmed up quite nicely across West Tennessee with highs making it into the mid to upper 60s. The winds were light and changed from the north to the west but will be light or calm tonight. After a mostly sunny day, the skies will be clear tonight making for another cool night. Overnight lows will fall down to the low 40s. Rain is NOT in the forecast tonight.

GOOD FRIDAY:
The nice weather will stick around on Good Friday across the Mid south. Temperatures will be a little warmer on Friday due to the return of the southwest winds. The winds will be a tad breezy in the afternoon around 10-15 MPH. Highs will reach the low 70s and we are going to see a mostly sunny day. Showers again are not in the forecast as it will be a quite nice Spring day. Friday night lows will be warm and fall to the mid 50s.

EASTER WEEKEND:
The southerly winds will be sticking around this weekend and that will increase the humidity some as the weekend progresses. Highs will make it all the way up to the mid to upper 70s on Saturday and upper 70s to near 80° on Easter Sunday. Clouds will be increasing as the weekend goes on due to a stalled out front sitting just north of West Tennessee. Showers are not in the forecast for most of us, but we cannot rule out a brief shower or two in our northern counties that border Kentucky.

The winds are going to be quite breezy with gusts as high as 30 MPH on Saturday and it will remain breezy at times on Sunday as well. Saturday night will only dip down to around 60° and mid 60s are the target zone for Sunday night. It will be a humid weekend but overall a pretty nice one. Temperatures will be around 70° for Sunday morning services on Easter.

NEXT WEEK:
The warm and humid weather will stick around for the first day of next week but a cold front is on the way for Tuesday. Some rain showers may return Monday night but as we get going into the day on Tuesday is when most of the showers from the incoming system will move through. There could be a few storms mixing in but we are not expecting this to be a severe weather maker for West Tennessee at this time.

The winds will change from the southwest to west early in the week before coming out of the northwest during the middle of the week behind Tuesday’s cold front. Highs will be near 80° on Monday, mid 70s Tuesday and around 60° for both Wednesday and Thursday. Morning lows will be a bit chilly for both Wednesday and Thursday morning with some 30s possible Wednesday night. We will stay above freezing but some frost cannot be ruled out as of now.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Very nice Spring-like weather is on the way for our Easter Weekend. The weather will be warm, a bit breezy and humid, but we should keep the rain away for most of us. The next major change to our weather is coming Tuesday due to a cold front passing by. We probably have seen our last freeze of the season but a frost of two could be possible so you might want to hold off on planting this weekend or you might be rolling the dice a bit.
