Milan church’s annual Cross Walk draws attention to gospel story
MILAN, Tenn. — First General Baptist Church in Milan held a “Cross walk” this morning.
The church has a member play Jesus and carry the cross through town while threatened by a roman guard with a whip.
They were joined by a crowd of people with signs hoping to raise awareness to the gospel story.
The Cross Walk started at the McDonalds in Milan and ended at First General Baptist Church.
Church member Lemont Williams shares shares his reason behind the walk.
“Just to spread the gospel and tell the story. A lot of people don’t know his walk, a lot of people don’t know he was prosecuted with two other thieves so when you get to telling more about Jesus, you get a lot of ‘woah, I didn’t know that,’ so it’s just a spark of interest. It’s like, just plant a seed, if you could just plant that seed, it can, it can go from there,” said Williams.
This is the church’s 17th year performing the Cross Walk.
