Divine Nine hosts an Easter event in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—Nine Greek life organizations partner to bring a special celebration to Jackson.

The second annual Divine Nine event occurred today in Jackson. This event was an Easter egg hunt for kids ages two to ten-years-old.

The celebration was held from 11 this morning until 2 this afternoon at Forest Hill Park on Labelle Street. Kids who attended enjoyed an “egg-cellent” time of listening to music, eating sweet treats and egg hunting. They could also play fun games and win prizes.

This was the Divine Nine’s first-ever Easter Egg Hunt. The group says they are happy to give back to children in the area and hope to make this an annual event.

“We were looking at keeping this going as an annual event. We’ve had a great turnout,” said Julius Graham, event chair, Divine Nine Easter Egg Hunt.

Divine Nine is comprised of nine sororities and fraternities in Jackson and the surrounding area. These organizations include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
