Law enforcement provides ‘egg-cellent’ hunts for kids

LEXINGTON, Tenn.—Law enforcement in one county makes this Easter a little more fun for local kids.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s office and Lexington Police Department partnered to host their annual Easter Egg Hunt today.

The egg hunt took place at Beech Lake in Lexington and started at 9 this morning and lasted until noon.

This year’s event consisted of four ‘egg-cellent’ multi-aged hunts. These included hunts for special needs children, those aged 5 and under, 6-10-year-olds, and a hunt for 11-15-year-olds.

Those who participated searched for eggs containing candy and even prizes.

The family event also offered visits with the Easter Bunny and “Checkers” the snake from Natchez Trace State Park.

Participants also enjoyed face painting, games, crafts, and visits with local fire fighters, SWAT members, and police officers.

“We’re so thankful we live in Henderson county and we deal with the people we have to deal with on a daily basis; who are just great people, and we thank you for that,” said Jeremiah Adams, Investigator, Henderson Co. Sheriff’s Dept.

This annual event is provided free for the community to enjoy.
