Grandparents arrested in tragic death of 3-year-old grandson

SALTILLO, Tenn. — Grandparents are behind bars as the investigation into the death of a their grandson has a community grieving.
“December 26, 2023, 911 got a call of this incident that occurred in the city limits of Saltillo, Tennessee,” said Hardin County Sheriff, Johnny Alexander.
It was the day after Christmas when Sheriff Alexander says that they found 3-year-old Carson Brasher dead.
Jeff and Amy Brasher, the child’s grandparents, were arrested for charges related to his death on March 29th.
“Jeff Brasher works for EMS I think over in Jackson. The case was presented to the grand jury. They came back with these two bills with the charges that they were arrested on,” said Alexander.
Jeff Brasher is charged with child abuse and neglect.
Amy Brasher is charged with first degree murder and child abuse and neglect.
Carson’s mother, Kimberly Jones, says that her son was full of life and the sweetest little boy.
“He had three sisters, well four sisters, and he had a brother. He was the youngest. He was my only boy out of four children,” said Kimberly Jones, Mother of the victim.
Since the incident, she has continued seeking justice for her son.
“I just want justice for my son. This is out of Hardin County and these people are very well known people and I just don’t want the fact that because everybody knows them, that they’re gonna be on their side and be like ‘no they didn’t do this, they would never do this.’ I don’t want that because this is real. I’m, like, living a horror movie,” said Jones.
Jeff and Amy Brasher are currently in the Hardin County Jail, Jeff Brasher has a 100 thousand dollar bond, while Amy Basher’s bond is 500 thousand dollars.
