Love Your Block seeks tools to transform Jackson neighborhoods

JACKSON, Tenn. — April is here and the countdown has begun, one organization needs your help to collect needed tools for community improvements.

Love Your Block in Jackson needs residents to help ‘Pack The Van’ at this year’s Earth Day Festival.

Love Your Block is known for providing small grants to residents and community partners in an effort to make needed improvements, reducing blight and encouraging positive changes within local neighborhoods.

Tools needed include shovels, rakes, paint rollers, brushes, landscaping tools, hammers, drills and other home improvement items.

“Nothing as big as, like, lawn mowers or anything because we have those covered. But anything that is functional and not broken, if you’re willing to donate we’d be happy to take,” said Abby Palmer, Neighborhood Services Director for City of Jackson.

If you have any gently used tools that you would like to donate, bring those to the Earth Day Festival, which begins at 9 am on Saturday, April 20. The festival will take place at the Jackson Fairgrounds located at 800 South Highland Avenue.

For information about the Mobile Tool Shed or donations, contact Love Your Block at (731) 422-7033.
