Pleasant Saturday, Few Storms on Sunday!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
After a frosty cold start we are in for mostly sunny and nice weather will return for Saturday afternoon. Warmer and humid weather will usher in some scattered storms Sunday evening and we might be able to see the eclipse in West Tennessee. There is a decent shot the skies try to break up across West Tennessee Monday afternoon during the eclipse, so keep your fingers crossed. Catch all the latest details

THE WEEKEND:
We are looking at a mixed bag this weekend across West Tennessee. Saturday will be a mostly sunny and dry day but will be a little cooler than Sunday. We are expecting some showers and storms to return Sunday and last overnight into Monday morning. Highs on Saturday will reach the lows 60s and will be a bit chilly due to the east breeze. Saturday morning will be chilly in the mid 30s and Sunday morning lows will be in the low to mid 40s.

Sunday highs will reach up to around 70°. Clouds will move in during the day on Sunday and rain chances are 60% as of now on Sunday. The SPC has put all of West Tennessee under a marginal risk for severe storms. Gusty winds will be the main threat and the most likely time to be impacted from these storms will be in the evening hours. The winds on Sunday will come out of the southeast. Clouds will stick around Monday morning but there is a slight chance they break up in time to see the Eclipse early Monday afternoon…. fingers crossed, it could go either way as of now!

NEXT WEEK:
There will be a few showers early Monday morning but they should clear out before noon. The clouds will try to break up a bit on Monday and there is a 50/50 chance as of now we will get to the see the eclipse in Jackson. Some people in West Tennessee will get to see it, some of us are going to be blocked by clouds as we are expecting it to be partly cloudy in the early afternoon when the celestial event will be visible across West Tennessee. It will be warmer on Monday though with highs reaching the mid 70s due to a southwest breeze.

More showers are expected late Monday night into the day on Tuesday. Tuesday is looking like a pretty wet day but more showers and some potential storms will be coming in on Wednesday. The rain will likely linger into the day on Thursday also. Highs next week will be near normal close to 70° and morning lows will hang around 60°. The winds are forecast to come out of the south and west early in the week before transitioning back to the northwest late in the week. We could end up with a widespread 2-3″ of rain from Sunday through Thursday next week.

FINAL THOUGHT:
The cooler and windy weather is going to wrap up as we finish the work week and some frost seems likely Saturday morning but a freeze is not likely, but cannot be ruled out. Clouds might look to spoil the eclipse viewing across the Mid South next Monday, but we will see how things are shaping up over the weekend as it is going to be close. Warmer weather will be returning next week but it also looks like it is going to be quite wet most of the week as well.
