Stores buzzing as Powerball Jackpot reaches 1.23 billion dollars
JACKSON, Tenn. — With the Powerball Jackpot reaching over one billion dollars, you still have time to grab a ticket before the next drawing, on April 6.
The Powerball Jackpot has reached an estimated 1.23 billion dollars making it the eighth-largest prize in U.S. lottery history.
This lottery amount is also making gas stations and convenience stores a hotspot for ticket purchases since there was no winner on Wednesday.
“A lot of quick picks but I do see a lot of people fill out,” said Michael Da’nace, Cashier at the Old Medina Market on Exit 83.
Since the last winner in January there have been 40 drawings without anyone winning the jackpot.
You still have a chance to purchase a quick pick or choose a lucky set of numbers for your ticket like this player who, if she won, says she would buy her dream home.
“I’d buy a beach house at padre island. That’s my favorite place to vacation,” said one Powerball player.
Or this man who says he would help out his family and take a lengthy getaway.
“I’ll buy my kids all new vehicles, buy my family all new houses. I’ll invest the rest of the money and go on vacation probably for a year,” ,” said another Powerball player.
The odds of winning are 1 in 292 million.
