JACKSON, Tenn. — An investigation is underway into a shooting involving an off-duty officer of the Jackson Police Department.

Several WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters alerted us to the incident, with multiple sources reporting the shooting may have involved the spouse of the officer.

We have reached out to both the Jackson Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, who referred us to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Monday, the TBI issued a brief response to us, stating in part:

At the request of 26th Judicial District Attorney General Jody Pickens, TBI agents continue to investigate a Friday night shooting incident involving an off-duty officer of the Jackson Police Department. Our work remains active and ongoing this morning.

Later Monday evening, TBI agents and emergency services personnel were at a home on Hickory Hills Drive that records show is owned by Brandon Moss since 2002.

Moss is a 24-year veteran with the Jackson Police Department.

Agents were seen entering his home with evidence markers in hand.
