TONIGHT:

Tuesday started out as a wet day for all of us in West Tennessee, but we dried out for the afternoon. Rain chances are 70% through tonight after the sun goes down and will linger into Wednesday morning. Do not expect to see the sun this evening and cloudy skies will be hanging around all night. Highs on Tuesday reached the mid 60s and the winds were a bit breezy at times and came out of the south. Tuesday night will also be warm, wet and humid with lows falling down to around 60° by Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY:

The best shot for storms this week appears to be on Wednesday, but we are currently only under a marginal risk for severe storms (1/5) for most of us, but a slight rish (2/5) has been issued south of Jackson. We are though, regardless of the storm threat, going to be encountering several rounds of heavy rain showers too. Highs on Wednesday will reach the upper 60s under the clouds and Wednesday night lows will be warm again and fall to the mid 50s. Expect a cloudy day on Wednesday and the winds will remain a bit breezy and continue to come from the southeast and might transition to the west as the night goes on. Chances for rain on Wednesday is 100% as of now.

THURSDAY:

The rain showers will continue into the day on Thursday before moving out in the afternoon and evening hours. We are expecting dry weather by Thursday night for all of West Tennessee. Highs on Thursday will reach the mid 60s again and expect another cloudy day. If the skies clear out Thursday night into Friday morning, lows could fall to the mid 40s by Friday morning. The winds are forecast to come out of the west on Thursday on the back side of a low pressure system exiting off to the east of us. Chances for rain on Thursday is 90% during the day but will move out Thursday night.

FRIDAY:

Friday is looking like a really nice day with mostly sunny skies. It will not be an overly warm or humid day and highs will reach the mid 60s again. Friday night will be a bit cool with temperatures dropping down to the mid 40s to kick off the weekend. The winds on Friday are going to come out of the northwest on the backside of the storm system that brought all the rain earlier in the week. The nice weather is forecast to continue into the weekend for Saturday but it is going to be much warmer this weekend as well.

THE WEEKEND:

A really nice weekend looks to be on the way for West Tennessee. Mostly sunny skies are on tap for Saturday and a few more clouds will move in on Sunday, but Sunday is going to warmer and a bit more humid as well. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid to upper 70s and upper 70s to near 80° will be the high on Sunday. Saturday morning will be a little cool in the mid to upper 40s but Sunday morning lows will start out in the mid to upper 50s. The winds this weekend will be breezy at times and come out of the southwest. We are not expecting any rain this weekend so take advantage of it. If you want to plant, we think it is safe to do so as we have seen our last freeze of the season and have likely seen our last frost as well.

FINAL THOUGHT:

Get ready for the rain this week. A widespread 2-3″ of rain is coming across West Tennessee and there is a shot some people get close to 4″ before everything is all said and done. The showers and storms are going to be coming in waves this week. Overall the severe weather threat appears to be low as of now, but there will be storms mixing in and a few severe storms will be possible this week. We have likely seen our last freeze and probably our last frost of the season. The overall weather pattern looks to be quite warm for the middle of April, so feel free to plant all you want this weekend.
