Sea of Blue held for Gibson County Deputy Gene Skinner

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department honored one of their own.

A Sea of Blue was held for Deputy Gene Skinner on Monday night.

The Sheriff’s Department announced Skinner’s sudden passing on April 3.

Skinner was assigned to the court division, where the department stated he “displayed constant professionalism and a servant’s heart daily.”

Deputy Skinner was also and elected Constable and a member of the Tennessee Constable’s Association.

According to his obituary, Skinner was born in Union City in 1955 and most recently resided in Rutherford.

His obit states he leaves behind his wife, son, daughter-in-law, sister, brother-in-law, and two grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 6 at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.

The Sheriff’s Department stated he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
