UPDATE: Madison Co. Sheriff’s Office says escapee in custody
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:
Today, at approximately 9:56 AM, escapee, John McKenzie Williams, JR, 30, of Jackson Tennessee, was taken into custody without incident, at a residence on Howlett Cove in Jackson Tennessee through the joint efforts of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson Police Department.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office would like to especially thank the collaborative efforts of our local law enforcement agencies in successfully fulfilling this operation.

Search underway after man escapes from Madison County Jail
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:
Today, at approximately 9:35 AM, John McKenzie Williams, JR, 30, of Jackson Tennessee, was being held for processing at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex. Williams had just previously been arrested by court security on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Circuit Court. While Williams was in the booking area, a Correctional Officer was returning through an exterior and interior door, Williams was able to push the correctional officer and flee through that same exterior door.
The Correctional Officer pursued Williams on foot behind the Criminal Justice Complex but he managed to allude the officer. The Sheriff’s Office received further information that Williams may have gotten into a 1990’s model Ford Mustang, Blue in color, more described with a loud muffler, in the area of Sycamore Street, Jackson, Tennessee.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is currently utilizing all resources to locate and arrest John McKenzie Williams, Jr, who is now facing additional charges for assault and escape.
