Drug bust leads to arrest with help of K9

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — A man is arrested after a drug bust Thursday night in Decatur County.

According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Robert Thomas Floyd is facing numerous drug charges following a traffic stop.

The Sheriff’s Office says around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on routine patrol in north Decatur County received information from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office that Floyd was operating a motor vehicle in the area with a revoked driver’s license.

A release states Deputy Dalton Flowers spotted Floyd and conducted a traffic stop.

During the stop, the release says Deputy Flowers deployed K9 officer “Dixi” who alerted on the vehicle.

The release says authorities confiscated around 154 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, approximately 83 grams of suspected marijuana, a bottle of liquid believed to be steroids, and a Taurus 380 pistol.

According to the release, various drug paraphernalia was also discovered, including scales, needles, straws, a glass pipe and $1,577 in cash.

Floyd was taken into custody and now faces charges of possession of schedule II with intent to sell, possession of schedule III, possession of schedule VI with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony, and driving on a revoked driver’s license.

Records available online indicate Floyd remains in custody at the Decatur County jail.
