WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It was a bit windy Friday but we have also seen a lot of sunshine. Temperatures will be a bit chilly tonight but highs this weekend are forecast to get close to 80° both days. The humidity will rise late in the weekend and into early next week setting the stage for the next chance for storms Tuesday night. Catch the latest on next week’s storm chances and find out just how warm things are going to get next week right here.

Jackson has seen an average amount of rainfall so far in 2024. After an above average start in January, We were below in March and have been never normal so far in April.

TONIGHT:
Friday was a really nice day with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon and evening. It was not an overly warm or humid day but highs still reached the mid to upper 60s. Friday night will be a bit cool with temperatures dropping down to the mid 40s to kick off the weekend. The winds on Friday are came out of the northwest on the backside of the storm system that brought all the rain earlier in the week. It was quite windy all day but the winds will weaken tonight and come out of the west. The plesant weather is forecast to continue into the weekend for Saturday but it is going to be much warmer this weekend as well.

THE WEEKEND:
A really nice weekend looks to be on the way for West Tennessee. Mostly sunny skies are on tap for Saturday and a few more clouds will move in on Sunday, but Sunday is going to warmer and a bit more humid as well. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid to upper 70s and upper 70s to near 80° will be the high on Sunday.

Saturday morning will be a little cool in the mid to upper 40s but Sunday morning lows will start out in the mid to upper 50s. The winds this weekend will be breezy at times and come out of the southwest. We are not expecting any rain this weekend so take advantage of it. If you want to plant, we think it is safe to do so as we have seen our last freeze of the season and have likely seen our last frost as well.

NEXT WEEK:
Next week is going to start out really nice in West Tennessee. It will be warm and a bit humid on Monday but highs should reach the low 80s. Highs will stick around in the low 80s for most of the week. Overnight lows next week will stick around in the low to mid 60s as southerly winds will dominate the forecast for the most part next week. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy during the week as gulf moisture will be prevalent and the next system will move in during the middle of the week. Storms could return Tuesday night and stick around into Wednesday morning. We should dry out for the back half of the day Wednesday before the next system will try to impact our weather late Thursday into the following Friday.

FINAL THOUGHT:
West Tennessee saw a widespread 1-2″ of rain earlier this week and some people got closer to 3″. Rain will stay away through the weekend and will look to return in the middle of next week. Some strong or potential severe storms could move through Tuesday night so we will be watching that closely over the weekend. We have likely seen our last freeze and probably our last frost of the season. The overall weather pattern looks to be quite warm for the middle of April, so feel free to plant all you want this weekend.
