New hearing held regarding Holly Bobo murder trial

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — In a developing story on the Holly Bobo case, there was a hearing held this morning, April 17, in Hardin County.

Zachary Adams filed two petitions and Judge Brent Bradberry tells us more about what those petitions are.

“Mr. Adams, through counsel, filed and amended petition for post conviction relief, and a petition for writ of error coram nobis,” said Judge Bradberry.

The second petition mean that Adams believes that there are facts that would have changed his judgment, but were unknown to the court at the time of judgment.

This is presumably referring to Jason Autry recanting his testimony that led ultimately led to Adams’ conviction.

Not much was done today, Judge Bradberry explains why.

“The motion to strike these exhibits is not ripe for a decision. That means it’s not time for me to make a decision on that. I need to have a further hearing on the state’s motion to dismiss the petition for writ of error coram nobis,” said Judge Bradberry.

Judge Bradberry said the court, and the parties involved, came to an agreement on the exhibits that were sealed.

“The court’s going to order that the temporary order placing these exhibits under seal is to remain in effect until further orders of the court. That will not occur until at least after I’ve ruled on the state’s motion to dismiss the writ altogether,” said Judge Bradberry.

The next court date is scheduled for June 14 at 10 a.m.

Zachary Adams was not in attendance today and is not required to be in attendance for the hearings.
