Christian artist, ‘American Idol’ alum Mandisa dies at 47
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Christian recording artist and former “American Idol” contestant Mandisa has died at age 47.
In a social media post on Friday morning, her team confirms she was found dead in her Nashville home on Thursday.
Mandisa appeared on the fifth season of “American Idol” in 2006, and finished in ninth place.
She then went on to release multiple albums, and won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for “Overcomer” at the 56th Grammy Awards.
Her team shared that “Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world.”
