Jackson celebrates Mother Earth with festival return
JACKSON, Tenn.—A festival returns to the Jackson Fairgrounds to celebrate Mother Earth.
The 2024 Earth Day Festival was held today at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park.
The event took place from 9 this morning until 1 this afternoon.
The event hosted by the City of Jackson and Keep Jackson Beautiful organization offered fun activities for the entire family.
Smokey the Bear was present at the festival along with several Earth Day themed vendors.
Guests of the event could do their part to help the environment by bringing items to recycle such as cardboard, and plastic.
Over 500 trees were also given away and Love Your Block debuted its new Mobile Tool Shed at the event.
“It’s all of our responsibility. We are only given this planet and we are all tasked with being responsible stewards of our areas,” said Danielle Wade, Keep Jackson Beautiful Coordinator.
The Earth Day Festival is held annually in Jackson.
