One FHU organization revs up funds with a unique event

HENDERSON, Tenn.—One organization at a local university revs up some funds to help animals in need.

Freed-Hardeman University’s Society of Future Marketers hosted its first-ever Freed Speed Car Show this morning.

The car show took place from 9 this morning until 1 this afternoon at Henderson Church of Christ located at 240 White Avenue in Henderson.

The event featured several categories on display including modern, antique, imports, vintage, and even off road vehicles.

The fundraiser offered more than just fun for vehicle enthusiasts, it also had live music, tons of food vendors and contests.

The Society of Future Marketers will donate a portion of the proceeds from today’s fundraiser to Friends of the City of Henderson Animal Shelter to go towards a new building. The remaining funds will go to support networking opportunities for members of the FHU organization.

“For this being a first year event, I’d say we had a pretty good turnout. So, I want to thank everyone for coming out today and enjoying this beautiful weather,” said Barrett Price, President of Society of Future Marketers.

The group hopes to make this fundraiser an annual event.
