FAFSA delays could be impacting college enrollment rates
JACKSON, Tenn. — FAFSA delays could hurt college enrollment.
FAFSA numbers are significantly down from previous years.
According to the National College Attainment Network‘s most recent data, Tennessee’s FAFSA completion rate is 35%.
We’re down 44% from where we normally are this time of year!
This has everyone in higher education concerned about students making radical changes in their college decisions or not going at all.
While it may seem uncertain right now, the FAFSA remains a key step in going to college and the only way for students to receive critical financial aid.
“The primary point of advice here is get the application done, get it started even. Even if you’re unable to complete it in that one setting but get it started and get it done. Don’t think you’re too late,” said President of TICUA, Claude Pressnell.
Pressenell says it’s important for students stay the course and have patience.
