USJ hosts its 8th annual collective art show
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school is celebrating spring with the arts in full bloom.
University school of Jackson held its 8th annual school-wide “Arts at the U” this evening in the school’s Blankenship Theatre.
The event included art gallery walks where attendees could check out art by the students on exhibit and vote for their favorites in the People’s Choice awards.
In the library, drama students performed the Living Nativity, while the band performed throughout.
School leaders say tonight’s event shows the caliber of talent that students at USJ really have.
“Every single student from junior cubs to 5th grade have artwork in the show. We have middle school students who have been selected for their artwork to be on display, high school, ap arts, all of that is entirely encompassed around the campus and it is absolutely phenomenal as you can see,” said Upper School Theatre Director, Erica Davidson.
