JMCSS superintendent visits rotary club, speaks about new programs
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rotary Club hosted a local school leader to their meeting.
Jackson Madison County School System Superintendent, Marlon King, updated city leaders on how this school year was going for him.
King joked that although the school year is ending for students this is the most important and busy week for him.
He is pleased to announce the hard work that students and staff have put into the 2023 and 2024 school year.
This year he introduced some new programs for students outside of athletes such as robotics.
“Athletics is not the only space for our children and so one of the things we wanted to do was make certain that we practice what we preach. If we say options and opportunities it has to be across the board and it just can be in high schools it has to be in elementary school, it has to be in the middle schools,” said King.
King shares that investing in the arts and other programs is important for all students.
